Winner, lunch, & who wants an ARC of POSSESSION?!

Happy Monday! Many great things are going on right now, so I'm excited to serve up several awesome items on the bloggy menu:

Numero uno

The winner of a signed copy of Christina Mandelski's THE SWEETEST THING is...

Kathryn Packer Roberts, who loves angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream.

(Me, too, Kathryn! Me, too!)

Numero dos

I had lunch (pizza, at that!) with fellow YA authors Pam Harris and Marquita Hockaday on Saturday, and wow are they awesome. So grateful they live nearby, and can't wait to get together with them again!

Numero tres

Who wants to win an ARC of Elana Johnson's POSSESSION?

From Amazon.com:

Vi knows the Rule: Girls don’t walk with boys, and they never even think about kissing them. But no one makes Vi want to break the Rules more than Zenn…and since the Thinkers have chosen him as Vi’s future match, how much trouble can one kiss cause? The Thinkers may have brainwashed the rest of the population, but Vi is determined to think for herself.

But the Thinkers are unusually persuasive, and they’re set on convincing Vi to become one of them….starting by brainwashed Zenn. Vi can’t leave Zenn in the Thinkers’ hands, but she’s wary of joining the rebellion, especially since that means teaming up with Jag. Jag is egotistical, charismatic, and dangerous: everything Zenn’s not. Vi can’t quite trust Jag and can’t quite resist him, but she also can’t give up on Zenn.

This is a game of control or be controlled. And Vi has no choice but to play.

To enter, follow this blog and leave a comment telling me the one book I MUST read in 2011. You may also tweet/post this contest on your sidebar for an additional entry. If you'd like to spread the word, here is a ready-made tweet for your convenience:

Yeah! Thanks, I won!

I think you should read MY FAIR GODMOTHER. If you want a good laugh, it's a great feel-good type of book. And very well written.

I also tweeted about your contest (@brykateemma).

YAY! We had so much fun, too- thanks for showing us where TJ Maxx is :D Anyway, I think you should def. read XVI or The Liar Society this year if you have not read them, yet.

I am dying to read Possession :D I tweeted: http://twitter.com/#!/KeeKeeHockaday/status/65070137396559872

And I put your contest on our sidebar. Fingers crossed that I win!

Since you didn't specify YA or not I'll tell you you MUST read Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran. It's such a lovely book. Really, a must read if you like anything about the French Revolution (you may not lol, might just be me) but it really was a good one for me ;)

I know it has already been said so I will come up with another, but you should read Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran. I loved it. Another book I have really fallen for this year is Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma.

Please count me in if this is international.
You should read Memento Nora by Angie Smibert. It may look too short, but it's gripping stuff.

If you like summer-ish contemporary romace, I'll recommend Playing Hurt by Holly Schindler. And one dystopian I haven't heard a lot about, Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien. It has a sequel coming out in November, too.

I am reading Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan series and LOVING it. The last book (Goliath) comes out this September and I cannot wait. Like seriously. I'm inventing a time machine so that I can flash forward and read the book.

And now that I've officially revealed my weirdness, I tweeted (http://twitter.com/#!/JessWritesBooks/status/67719747403382784) and I'll go post a link in my sidebar.

Thanks for the giveaway! As for book you must read this year, I'd say Demon's Surrender. It's the 3rd book in the Demon's Lexicon trilogy and it's coming out in June. So if you haven't read the first, Demon's Lexicon, I totes recommend it! :)

Just one that you must read? hmmmm....that's tough.

I think I'll go away from my normal answers (C&P, Sarah Dessen) and say: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.

And I tweeted. :)
