Favorite moments from the royal wedding

As many of you know, I'm a total anglophile and a huge fan of the royal family, so I was up at 5am to watch the royal wedding. Throughout the coverage, I couldn't help thinking, "I've been there!  I've been there!" So very cool to watch William and Kate walk in the very spot I stood back in August.

In no particular order, here are my 10 favorite moments from William and Kate's wedding:

1. William whispering to his soon-to-be father-in-law, Michael Middleton: "We were supposed to have just a small family affair."

2. The 20-foot trees in Westminster Abbey:

3. Kate's, "Oh wow!" upon seeing the crowds at Buckingham Palace.

4. Pippa Middleton's Alexander McQueen maid of honor dress:

5. Kate's Sarah Burton lace wedding gown:

6. Lord Bishop of London, Right Reverend Dr. Richard Chartres' speech:

"Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire."

So said St Catherine of Siena whose festival day this is. Marriage is intended to be a way in which man and woman help each other to become what God meant each one to be, their deepest and truest selves.

Many people are fearful for the future of today’s world but the message of the celebrations in this country and far beyond its shores is the right one – this is a joyful day! It is good that people in every continent are able to share in these celebrations because this is, as every wedding day should be, a day of hope.

In a sense every wedding is a royal wedding with the bride and groom as king and queen of creation, making a new life together so that life can flow through them into the future...

8. The Tomb of the Unknown Warrior:

And I love even more that, keeping with tradition set by the Queen Mother (Queen Elizabeth II's mother), Kate will send her bouquet to the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior once the wedding pictures have been taken.

The floor of Westminster Abbey is covered in graves and plaques,
but this is the only one that no one -- not even a king or queen -- may tread on.

 9. William placing the ring on Kate's finger:

10. William and Kate, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, exiting the Abbey:

Did you watch the royal wedding? Which were your favorite moments?

William telling Catherine "you look beautiful" was so lovely. And when we finally saw the dress. The balcony kiss was magical.

What a romantic day! Makes me proud to be English!

Lovely post :)

I couldn't find it on the two channels that work on my tv. :( But thanks for the summary!

I missed all the lovely moments where William and Kate spoke to each other. I think I'm not a good lip-reader. LOL

I loved how the wedding made ME feel. It reminded me of my own wedding day and how very close I felt to being a princess. I love weddings. :)
