I buy books from new authors because by the time they hit the bookstores, I'm so eager to read them (after hearing about them on the blogs), I can't wait for the library to get them. ;)
No, I'm not participating, but I am excited for many of the debuts coming out next year. It seems like books are getting better and better now. Or at least their premises. Some of the ones on your list are ones I'm most excited to read, like Divergent, Wither, XVI, and Possession.
